We enjoyed the quietness of the cabin area. It was terribly humid and hot when we were there however, so we never had a chance to be out side to much. I would highly recommend the cabins in the 2800 loop for those that do not have an RV of any kind. You really do feel like your totally in another world while your at Fort Wilderness. We plan to return sometime in the future but to stay in the RV area.

We have stayed at the wilderness lodge, the animal lodge and lots of other onsite hotels. We like this the most, loved riding bikes. We saw 5 deer on a bike ride. This campground is great. Six year old loved the movie, and sing a long. The only dislike was some of the people driving golf carts to fast. We had a wonderful trip will be making reservations to go back in 2 months everyone in the family had a great time.

This is our second visit to "The Fort". We have been making an annual visit to Disney for the last 11 years. We came to Fort Wilderness back in 2000, but it was with a much smaller camper. This year was the absolute, hands down, without a doubt, best time at Disney ever. The 300 loop is close to everything, and very convenient. I have already booked a reservation for '07.

The campground was amazing! We didn't have time to experience all that Fort Wilderness offered. The parts we used were all great. The staff in the outposts and registration areas were outstanding. We rented a golf cart for the whole week we were there, so we didn't use the bus system within the campground but those we talked to who were using it said they had no problems. The bus service to the parks were good but we had a driver pick us up at Downtown Disney and took us to Wilderness Lodge even though I asked her if she was going to Fort Wilderness. The facilities were very clean (comfort stations) and the loops we checked out were well maintained. There is obvious damage remaining to the foliage from the hurricanes - down or half blown over trees and open space where they have been cleared out. The sites and other parts of the campground were all functional. The only problem we had was coming back to the campground from the Magic Kingdom after watching Wishes (the fireworks show was the best I have ever seen!) There was a large backup at the dock and not enough boats to get everyone back. The show ended at 8:20 and we didn't get back to the campground (with three VERY tired kids) until almost 9:45! We never got to the camp fire, but the Hoop De Doo show was outstanding! The breakfast buffet at Trail's End was also good. Everywhere else we camp has a long way to go to match Fort Wilderness!!!!

First family trip to the World. Cabins are very nice- surprisingly large! Brought a flashlight to check under beds before checking out- good idea as cabin lighting is just adequate. 2 Adults plus kids age 7,9,12. Since many of the resorts limit 4 to a room, this was a great choice for us! Golf cart is a great idea for getting around. WDW transportation was great. Used bus, monorail, and boats. Not so Scary Halloween Party is a must! Prices at the store are somewhat high, ($9.60 six pack domestic beer, Tombstone Pizza $5.50)but convenience is key and we were happy to have the store so close. We didn't grill, but I did notice rib eye steaks available for around $10.00 each. They also have hot dogs, hamburger patties, etc.) Cabins come with 2 complimentary coffee packets- after that we just bought by the cup at the store. We had 4 day hopper but should have scheduled an extra day or two just to enjoy the campground (trail ride, campfire sing along, etc.) After a full day in the parks, the quiet retreat of the cabin was great for down time. Maid service was excellent- made fun washcloth characters the kids couldn't wait to see when they we came home. (Don't forget to tip the maid service every day- they work hard for you!) Called on day of departure for a van pickup back to front desk to meet our prearranged taxi - tried to tip the WDW driver $1.00 per bag and he wouldn't accept- said he wasn't allowed. Fort Wilderness was the right choice for us!

422 was an incredibly easy site to get into and out of. Couldn't extend both the slideout and the canopy, but it was more of a limitation due to hose length...had we been able to back up further into the site (using a longer hose) we could have easily extended both. Nice site...lots of standing water after recent hurricanes...don't forget the Off Spray! The 400 loop is nice and close to the marina. Since we didn't go to Animal Kingdom on this trip, and we got to Epcot by way of the boat, then monorail, we didn't take a single internal campground bus once...not that we really mind taking the internal busses, but the central locations in easy walking distance were great!

This was our fifth family trip to WDW, and our fourth at Fort Wilderness. Less than half the cost of any other WDW home-away-from-home resort, these cabins with full kitchen are a wonderful option for the budget-minded WDW guest. By eating breakfast and dinner in the cabins we were able to GREATLY reduce the cost of our vacation, and were therefore able to spend an extra two days in the parks. We actually took far less advantage of the FW amenities this time around but it was great just knowing that they were there.

It was awesome. Our loop was right next to the pool and laundry station, but we never swam. We were there for 5 days and that was just not enough time. We loved every minute of Disney. The cabins were awesome. We had 7 people ( kids 8,7,6,and 2; Granny and Mom and Dad.) It was cozy. We were so exhausted every day that we just spent a little time not asleep in the cabin. I wish we would have had time to do more at the campground. It was very clean and very quiet. I would probably never stay anywhere else.

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon at 2:30. There were a few campers in front of us at check in, but the process was much quicker than I had expected. I had requested a site in the 100 or 200 loop and was thrilled to hear that we would be staying in site 110. This site worked perfectly for us. A quick walk to the marina and to the settlement bus stop. On most trips to all parks we were at our destination about 1/2 hour-45 minutes from leaving our camper door. While at Ft. Wilderness we had the opportunity to swim twice at the Meadows Pool. It was quite crowded on a Sunday afternoon. And even on Sat. morning at 9:00 it was filling up slowly with swimmers. We also enjoyed the campfire/movie program. It wasn't quite what I expected, but relaxing none the less. We ordered pizza from Trail's end Buffet which was piping hot and yummy. We also experienced yummy appetizers and drinks from Crockett's Tavern after a long day at the parks. This was our first trip to Ft. Wilderness! We will return! What a great time and in the middle of Disney!

Fort Wilderness was great! I couldn't believe how clean and beautiful it was. The staff was so helpful and nice. At first I thought the campsites were close together but since there were tree blocking the campsite I didn't hear other RVs. The only thing I didn't like was the campfire sing-a-long. I was very corny and the person could not sing. I was on the pet loop. I did bring my Golden Retriever and the pet walk was wonderful. They had clean up bags at each end of the pet walk, I just wished everyone would have used them.

This was our 4th stay in Fort Wilderness. On past trips we have stayed in a tent in August very hot and humid), we stayed in the Wilderness Homes (awesome, they even wash your dishes), we stayed in a small motor home (loved it) and on our last trip we stayed in our 28 foot travel trailer. We loved the site, it was close to the marina and we could take any bus and end up at our site. This is a must when travel with small children with a stroller. The only drawback was the hurricane off the coast that brought a lot of rain (2 full weeks) so we had a lot of water on our site. The facilities and cast members were excellent. We are heading to the Fort again July 2004.

I went with 5 kids, and we had a great time! I was very impressed with the bus system and didn't feel the need to either rent a car or a golf cart. The campground is very beautiful and relaxing, and next time I'm going to schedule more "down" days to just hang out around the campground.

The site was nice size. Had plenty room for our 29 ft. trailer & 21 ft. truck. The site was clean & well tended, it had plenty trees and shrub for beauty& privacy, ,site was backed up to a canal which was great for fishing. Site was walking distance to the lake. Had a great time. Wish transportation system was better.

Shower areas weren't as clean as they could be - visible mold and mildew. Also, caulking needed replacement. Noise from all of the teenagers honking their golf cart horns got to be a little much.

We wanted to make our yearly trek to Disney extra special this year - we wanted to bring our pet. Disney cast members helped us with all the arrangements to make our stay a great one. We enjoyed getting up every morning and taking our dog for a walk along the waterway and around the camp ground. Fort Wilderness has several stations with "poop" scoopers to help keep the grounds clean. Even though we were in a tent the weather was wonderful. We could hear other dogs barking at times but if you are staying in one of the pet loops with your pet you expect to hear barking every now and then. We wondered how he would cope with being in a kennel everyday while we were at the parks but the cast members at the kennels were terrific. They treated him as if he was their personal pet staying at Disney. We would visit him at lunch and walk him and he seemed glad to go back to the kennel. The staff was great. Upon our exit he received a certificate for being a great "guest". We look forward to camping at Disney in the future.

FW is the cleanest and quietest campground I have ever stayed in. The bus system worked out well, with never more than a 10 minute wait for transport. The sites are fairly close together, however this was never a problem because everyone was very respectful and quiet. Only little problem was the Hoop de doo crowd, who stand around before show time, blocking the sidewalk to and from the marina. We ate breakfast there and it was awesome! Overcrowding in the theme parks was however, a BIG problem. We will never visit again during a holiday season.

Any fear or being too close (because of crowd traffic) to the Marina, bus stop or settlement are far outweighed by the closeness to it all. Perfect weather, perfect site, and the best of all, it wasn't that crowded!!!

DISNEY TRANSPORTATION IS GREAT BUT MAKE SURE YOU REMEMBER HOW NOISY A GREYHOUND BUS CAN BE AT 2:00 AM WHEN IT IS ABOUT 40 FEET FROM YOUR TENT. ALSO THERE WAS STANDING WATER NEXT TO THE TENT PAD EVEN THOUGH WE HAD NO RAIN WHILE WE WERE THERE. MY GRANDSON HAD SO MANY BUG BITES A LADY ON THE BUS ASK IF HE WAS JUST GETTING OVER CHICKENPOX! OVERALL WE LOVED THE CAMPGROUND BUT NEXT TIME WE'LL MAKE SURE WE GET A SITE IN THE BACK OF A LOOP.

My husband and I went camping with our two girls (3 & 4). We had a great time. We went to Mickey's not so scary Halloween party at the Magic Kingdom. It is a MUST DO if you stay during October. We only camped for 2 nights, next time I would definitely stay longer. We rented a golf cart to get around but the bus was nice when we had to use it. Overall it was an excellent trip.

Definitely the best campground we've ever visited. Need more than one week to do the parks and enjoy all of the amenities at FW. Buses are hit or miss; EMH day for AK it took us 90 minutes from our bus stop...Outpost waiting area is crazy in the morning, and even though we were there for 25 minutes, people who came after us rushed the bus, and we were left to wait for the next one. Overall, we had a wonderful time and hope to spend at least 10 days the next time! Trail's End Buffet is wonderful and a great deal.

Fort Wilderness is a wonderful place to vacation. The cabins and the camping sites are great. We stayed in a cabin this trip and loved it. Hoop Dee Do was fantastic as usual. Even the bus service was great. We never waited for a bus, one always seemed to be there. I have been going to Fort Wilderness since 1974 and it just seems like home when we go. We had lots of towel animals left by mousekeeping each day. We did the family boat plan at the marina. I believe it was $200 for the week and it was fantastic. My sons 18 and 16 really got a lot of use of the boats. Well worth the money. We also rented a golf cart for the week.

We went one full week before Christmas. It was awesome! No crowds anywhere!! Comfort stations were impressive. I made the mistake of starting a small campfire and one of the cast members paid us a visit with his "mad face" on. Ha ha!!! Out of 10 I'd have to give the campground a solid 9. The only drawbacks were: 1) No campfires 2) The prices at the store, I know, it's Disney... 3) Only one car per site The great things 1) The cleanliness 2) Disney's customer service 3) The food, especially the breakfast buffet!!!! A neat customer service story...I'll be brief. We stayed at the Magic Kingdom past 10pm one night after having our son's bday party at Cinderella's Castle. We were the only people left in the park after that. The busses had stopped running. We told a cast member, who was obviously was not a bus driver) our dilemma and guess what??? He commandeered <sp> a bus just for us and took us straight to our campsite. We were the only people on the bus, and he wouldn't take a tip. He said it was his job. Pretty cool Huh? Only at Disney. Because of that I will never stay anywhere else when we go see Mickey.

This is the 2nd time to stay at Fort Wilderness. The first trip we stayed in a cabin and this time we brought a 5th wheel trailer. We had an excellent camp spot. Close to the comfort station (which was always very clean) and just a short walk to the marina. We had a great time and there was plenty to do for the varied ages of kids we had brought along (23 to 2 years). The golf carts are a must if you are staying at the camp ground and want to check out all of the loops. It saves a bunch of time walking to the swimming pools and other activities. We would recommend a camping trip to WDW to everyone. Also the preferred sites of camping are definitely worth it.
